Kampersrus is a historical town in Limpopo, secluded within the exquisite foothills of Marieskop Mountain. This mountain range looms over the little town protectively, providing breath-taking views from just about anywhere within its borders.

The town is situated in a biosphere that includes the Kruger National Park and part of the Drakensberg Mountain Range, as well as the famous Blyde Canyon. This makes it a very valuable member of the natural wealth of the Limpopo Province, as it showcases some of its most spectacular areas. As such, it is close to a number of nature reserves and parks, in which the untouched fauna and flora of South Africa can be savoured at leisure.

The Blyde River Dam is close to the town and is significant for being the locale of the Kadishi Waterfall. This is one of very few waterfalls in the world that are made from particular variety of limestone called tufa. Blyde Canyon is the third-largest canyon on the planet, and is also a must for visitors to Kampersrus.

In addition to its natural value, Kampersrus is well-equipped with the necessary shops, restaurants and pubs, which invite visitors to enjoy the local hospitality while languishing in the serene beauty. Hoedspruit is less than 30 kilometres away and the Eastgate Airport is 35 kilometres from Kampersrus.

Set in the tranquil surroundings of a large landscaped garden which blends itself with its open lawn, large trees and backed by the magnificent Drakensberg Mountains. The property is situated along the majestic Panoramic Route of Mpumalanga/Limpopo Province, and is in close proximity to the entrance of the Blyde River Canyon and 30 minutes away from the Orpen gate of the Kruger National Park. A blend of Colonial and African decor compliments this unique and elegant luxurious four bedroom, four bathroom house which also includes a lounge, dining room, bar, TV lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. The fourth bedroom, which is our luxury double bed private Garden room with shower en suite, has doors leading out to the garden and swimming pool, and is attached to the main house with its own outside entrance. There are also BBQ (Braai) facilities available, both wood and gas. Please bring your own wood. The house is fully serviced. We are located at the entrance to the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. The lodge is situated four and a half hours north of Johannesburg/Pretoria.

From Johannesburg and Pretoria: – Take the N12 from Johannesburg and the N4 from Pretoria, past Witbank (Emalahleni) and Middelburg to Belfast. Turn onto the R540 at Belfast to Dullstroom and Lydenburg (Mashishing). When you come into Lydenburg (Mashishing) turn left onto the R36 to Origstad, travel through Origstad, travel straight past the R532 turn off, travel straight through the Abel Erasmus Pass, travel straight on the R36 through the Strijdom Tunnel, (the tunnel is 21 km from the R532 turn off). After the tunnel the road automatically changes to the R527 to Hoedspruit. Travel straight on this road for 24.5 km from the tunnel and then turn right onto the Jonkmanspruit /Driehoek Road D1803 (if you cross the Blyde River you have gone too far). There is a sign board that says Blyde River Canyon Lodge just before the bridge.

Drive about 14 km and you will find a T- Junction, turn right to go to Blyde River Canyon Lodge and drive for 500m and we are on the right in the Blyde River Botanical Reserve. Turn right into the Blyde River Botanical Reserve and this leads to the Blyde River Canyon Lodge.

To get to the Blyde Hillside House you will turn left at the T- Junction and drive for 6 kms .You will come to another T-junction turn right, travel for 2.5 kms and then right up Maree Road, Kampersrus. Travel for approx 500 metres and you will find Blyde Hillside House on the LHS. Number 99.
